About Me

Hey there! I'm Ben Brock--artist at your service. I graduated Ball State University with a BFA in Acting and a double major in Philosophy. At college, I honed a craft that pulls from Jerzy Grotowski, Anne Bogart, Mary Overlie, and Uta Hagen, and studied the likes of Aristotle, Albert Camus, Marilyn Frye, and Aldo Leopold. My list of influential thinkers and theatre practitioners goes on, but the picture I want to paint is that each of my studies were passions that fueled each other. They both cultivated a sense of curiosity and empathy within me that enriches my work, but more importantly, enriches my life.

Growing up, I played sports and played pretend. I didn't want to give up either, so I became an actor and one of those insufferable people who will talk your ear off about his upcoming marathon. As a runner, I have had the joy of being on many teams in my life, so if you are interested in working with me, please reach out! I would love to be a part of carrying your team to the finish line.

What are you working on right now?

After completing the improv training at UCB, I formed a team called Shoehorn that performs improv comedy around the city. Follow me on Instagram to hear about upcoming gigs!

I'm back on that auditioning grind after closing a production of Sense and Sensibility, and I am regularly working with my acting coach, Brian McManamon to keep my skills and audition book fresh!
